Today we’re talking about Maxime and his neck pain. Find out how a simple tongue problem can cause neck pain in children. 👶
What Causes Child Neck Pain?
After observing his posture and reflexes, we discover that Maxime’s tongue is the real culprit, and that it’s the reason for the neck pain in children. Indeed, poor tongue position, often linked to habits such as thumb-sucking or pacifier use, can lead to postural imbalances and cause physical pain.
Maxime also has pain under his big toe, known as plantar irritative pressure soreness (PIPS), which is a secondary symptom of this problem. And that’s not all: Maxime’s teeth have also changed position, with the lower jaw recessed and the upper jaw too far forward. A further indication of the crucial role played by the tongue in his development.
Postural treatment and a consultation with a speech therapist can help correct this problem and improve your child’s quality of life.
